Public Nod for Single Entrance Test

According to the estimations of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India, the people of India have appreciated the National Testing Scheme (NTS) and recommended that the present college admission system should be reversed.

National Testing Scheme (NTS) is a single-examination evaluation due to which students will be exempted from appearing in multiple entrance examinations conducted all over the country by various educational institutions.

The opinion of the people was taken through a specially designed questionnaire based on a range of issues by the Committee. The voting was started by NTS website, which was launched in May 2011 and end in June 2011. The majority of the opinions were in favor of changing the current examination scheme with 59% suggesting major changes and 26% people recommended partial changes.

According to the suggestions of the survey, a single examination might having high knowledge amount and features such as alignment with the Class 12th examination syllabus, affordable examination fee, thoughtful use of time and money and transparency in various examination results.

At last, the recommendations of the Committed will be tabled in front of the Ministry of HRD by September 2011.

Indian B-School Tops in Asia

For the second consecutive year, Indian business schools come as the top in Asian region. It is confirmed at the recently concluded Asia’s Best B-School Awards at the Suntec, Singapore.

At the award ceremony, around 29 countries were participated including Australia, Hong Kong, UAE, Singapore and so on. These countries are nominated on the basis of their quality input, academic output, mission of the institution, placements and faculty and purpose.

Meanwhile, the top management institute in Asia for the year 2011 is IIPM Delhi. Last year the award went to SP Jain Institute of Management. The award ceremony was concluded by the Star Dean of INSEAD, Professor Dipak Jain being awarded for his valuable contribution in the field of marketing management.

India-Australia Educational Links Strengthened

August 1, 2011, Monday, was the crucial day in the historical educational relationship between India and Australia. It is because both the countries have enhanced educational and training links with a new website.

The Australia India Education Links Site was initiated in New Delhi on Monday. Tertiary Education Minister Chris Evans and the Human Resource Minister of India Kapil Sibal had launched the website.

Both the Ministers also signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding the student mobility and welfare, which would make their educational relationship stronger on both sides.

Furthermore, both Chris Evans and Kapil Sibal were attending the inaugural meeting of the Australia-India Education Council, which was established to reform education, training as well as economic relationship between India and Australia.

Jammu University VC to Be Appointed Soon

The Central University Jammu may get soon its first Vice Chancellor (VC). The appointment is likely to be announced in the next two or three days.

As per the officials, the Union Home Ministry has in talks with the Government of Jammu to select the university’s first VC from the Jammu region. Furthermore, the officials have stated that the ministry was waiting for President Pratibha Patil’s return from the foreign tour but now with her come back, the VC appointment file would be sent to her for approval on Monday i.e. August 1, 2011.

Meanwhile, J & K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spoke to HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on the matter early last week and was confident regarding the early appointment of the first vice chancellor of Jammu Central University.

The appointment has also received agitation from some groups as they are against the early step in the issue and demanded a local resident should be selected for the post of Vice Chancellor of Jammu University.

IIM Lucknow May Soon Become Autonomous Institution


Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, also famous as IIM Lucknow, may get fully autonomous status soon. It is assumed after Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad got autonomous status by the Government of India. TNPSC Announces VAO Result 2011

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced result of the examination, conducted on February 20, 2011, for the recruitment of the candidates to the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO). The results for total number of 2407 participants are announced on July 19, 2011.

Candidates can seek their result by logging on to the official website of the TNPSC. However, the exam results for the SC/ST candidates (1077 in numbers) will not be released until the final order of the respected High Court.

DTU Announces First Cutoff List for B Tech Programmes

The prestigious Delhi Technological University (DTU) has announced its first list of admissions for its Bachelor of Technology programmes.

The University, which was formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering, has acquired the online mode of admission. Therefore, candidates had to register online in order to apply for these programmes. As a result, a total number of 10827 aspirants have been registered to appear in online counseling.

Delhi Technological University has confirmed 1218 seats for the candidates.

Furthermore, DTU has reserved 15% seats for the candidates coming from outside Delhi, on the other hand, 85% seats for the candidates belong to the capital of India.

The admissions to the Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) programmes of DTU are decided on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), a national level test for the admission in engineering programmes.

IIM-Indore to Start Undergraduate Courses After Class 12

Indian Institute of Management - Indore, which is also famous IIM Indore, has initiated an Integrated Post Graduate in Management programme, which consists of three-year degree programme followed by two-year of master’s programme. Therefore, the total number of duration for this programme will be five-years.

The institute will start its first session from this year with confirming 120 seats for the aspirants.

The regular class room lectures will be conducted, which teach several important topics. These subjects will be maths and statistics, history, literature and political science, biological sciences, languages, finance and accounting, economics and information technology.
