In 2004, the two branches of Al Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and King Saud University merged to form Qassim University , which became independent in the second semester of the 2004 academic year when administrative, academic departments, and deanship were each established. The main campus is located in the center of Qassim province covering 7.8 square kilometers. Other campuses are available in Unayzah and Azulfi.
