Sir L.A. Shah Law College, which is located in Ahmedabad, is one of the oldest law colleges in the state of Gujarat. It came into existence in 1927 as one of the constituent ventures of Gujarat Law Society (GLS), which is a registered Society. The educational institute was formerly affiliated to the University of Bombay, but it shifted its affiliation from this university to the prestigious University of Gujarat in 1950.

Sir L.A. Shah Law College Ahmedabad imparts undergraduate level programme i.e. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and post graduate level programme - Master of Laws (LLM). Both the UG and PG programmes are offered as per the rules and regulations of the Bar Council of India (BCI), Government of India. Undergraduate Programme

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme of the Sir L.A. Shah Law College Ahmedabad is a three-year full time programme, which is conducted in diverse fields of law study such as constitutional law of India, tort and consumer protection laws, law of crimes, environmental law, company law and many more.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates need to have passed three-year of bachelor’s level examination in any stream, from any recognized University.

Admission Criteria: Candidates are selected to the UG programme of the institute on the merit basis determined by their marks in the qualifying examination.

Postgraduate Programme

Master of Laws (LLM)

Sir L.A. Shah Law College Ahmedabad also conducts postgraduate level study in law study in the form of Master of Laws (LLM). It is a two-year full time programme, which is carried out in various streams of legal education. Some of these fields are Law and Social Transformation in India, Indian Constitutional Law: The New Challenges and Judicial Process, Law of Industrial and Intellectual Property, Banking Law and Insurance law and many more.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this programme, one has to pass LLB examination from Gujarat University or its equivalent recognized University.

Admission Criteria: Admissions are offered to the candidates on the basis of marks obtained by them in the qualifying examination. The admissions are subjected to the rules and regulations of Gujarat University.
